When we talk about health, we understand that health is larger than healthcare

When we talk about equity we mean a society that supports the health of all people.  We understand that in the "world as it is" that systems of oppression, historically and continuing today, create inequities in health that are avoidable, unjust and deadly.

We support Camara Jones' definition of health equity "Health equity is the assurance of the conditions of optimal health for all"

So the Health Equity Circle educates, organizes and acts to build health equity by supporting and developing health equity leaders.
